I am not a Princess, although doll does come to mind! Let's just say I was a late starter in the camping stakes! In order to tempt me to go camping the guy laughing in the picture would do everything. Yep everything! All I had to do was turn up then sit, with a glass of Champagne and smile. Had to smile, forced, grimaced or otherwise! Believe me, at times I struggled! I was known as Miss NC (non camper)! Haven't times changed!
Reluctantly at first, I came to see, first hand, the amazing benefits of a camping holiday for everyone. I began to appreciate the simplicity, the environment, the complete and utter change from the everyday, the great outdoors, fresh clean air and Mother Nature. It was really the only total break from the hectic life we were temporarily leaving behind. It was a healthy holiday for us and the environment. Let's face it, no jet fuel or passports. And then came the kids....
It never ceased to amaze me how entertained the kids were with their camping environment and how precious the memories were that we created when we went camping. It still amazes me, even now. Yes, we still go camping!
I am fully aware of the extraction process a lot of women go through to let go of the many things they hold dear when they go camping. One, flushing toilets, running hot water, clean floors, clean kids, clean feet, organisation, restaurant meals, perfect housekeeping, blah, blah, blah. BUT what you receive in return for letting your standards drop temporarily repays you mega fold in a happy carefree family. It is quite liberating and once you do let go, you feel empowered. Trust me, I know, I am a Campingologist!
Anyways, you are dying to know why that guy holding the big fish is laughing, hey? Well that is the man who started it all. That is Ashley, my Husband, or affectionately known as Tight Tarp (no he doesn't iron the tarps he just erects with precise precision)! He is laughing because just after we started Hire-a-camp he bought a Commercial Fishing boat & license and went fishing. The irony is that Miss NC is now the number one camp erector. That would make any bloke laugh, huh? So now I do for other people what he did for me! Karma! Thankfully we have 2 sons, Dan (16) & Tom (9). Dan is now affectionately known as Son of Tight Tarp as he is my main tarp man. Tom is the self-confessed Camping-lolly-gist who lends a hand at Inskip (mainly playing with the other camper's kids)!
So what I want to pass onto you, apart from the amazing health benefits a camping holiday can bring, ranging from total relaxation, clean fresh air, dazzling star lit skies, cosy campfires, being so close to Nature you can feel it, blue skies, sand between your toes, loads of sunshine and warm sandy beaches, is encouragement to just give it a try. We make it so easy for you, what have you got to lose? What have you got to gain? You do the maths.
We believe that our kids are tomorrow's caretakers of our environment and natural assets. To care for them, they must first value them. To value them they must first experience them. So what are you waiting for?
Have an "out of resort' experience and step away from the same 4 wall syndrome and go camping. Be adventurous. You will be surprised how little the entertainment costs, unlike theme parks and resorts, our accommodation is also the entertainment.
We are an environmentally friendly tourism operator but we need environmentally friendly tourists to believe in what we all want. Responsible, sustainable, environmentally sensitive holiday options that support our local community and in turn supports Australia.
After all, we make it easy for you.
