Real People, Real Experiences, Real Stories
Telling stories is in our DNA. We have been doing it since dot! Now we use the same method but with different mediums. We still tell stories and paint pictures but these days we use photos, blogs, videos, websites and social media to deliver our stories.
GCT's website is their shop front that is open 24/7. It is the window to the world. And what we use as our window dressing is our Members' products and services.
We Are Not a Newspaper, We Tell Stories

Definition of Flop and Drop
I suggest "Flop & Drop" would refer to a deserving holiday candidate desperate to unwind and chill out. So tense and wound up, all they can cope with is to get to their destination and then collapse from exhaustion. Hence flop (after check in) and drop (after hitting the bed)! I also gather that flopping and dropping is fashionably done at the beach! Lets face it, just the term beach instantly relaxes you, doesn't it. That is without smelling it or hearing it! Reality affords a more powerful sense!

World Famous Coloured Sands
An Easy 600 metre Walk
Offering an easy 600 metre walk from the carpark at the top of Cooloola Drive next to the water towers. The track can be accessed with strollers due to a series of wide steps that meanders through characteristic local vegetation.
The views of Double Island Point, the ocean, the Coloured Sands and the Tin Can Bay Inlet are spectacular and well worth the effort.
Spectacular sunrises and sunsets are popular. Sunsets can be made all the more amazing when accompanied with the rising of a full moon in the opposite direction. Sandsliding is also a favourite with visitors. Migrating whales can be sighted passing by from July to October.
Welcome to Our Stunning Natural Wonders
Named By Captain Cook
When Captain Cook was sailing past the Sunshine Coast over 2 centuries ago, he saw and named Rainbow Beach's stunning Sandblow after one of his crew members, Carlo. He also named Double Island Point as it appeared to be a headland that consisted of two islands. We know that not to be the case but the name has remained.
I say, who wouldn't want to ride a horse leisurely along the beach? It would have to be on your bucket list, right? The prettier the beach the better, hey? Well have I got a hot tip for you!
Rainbow Beach Horse Rides are amazing. They not only have awesome horses, but they ride along a beautiful beach. Free of cars and danger. These horses are not the 'brain dead' variety you may have experienced at the local show pony rides, these horses are intelligent, extremely well looked after and LOVED by their owners.
Rainbow Beach is synonymous with Nature based activity in natural surroundings, so Rainbow Beach Hire-a-camp and Rainbow Beach Horse Rides go hand in hand with the same ethos.
I must say, I was extremely impressed with the attention to quality, animal welfare, professionalism and customer care this local business has continued to display.
Do yourself a favour and get on a high horse when you visit Rainbow Beach!
Seary's Creek, 8km south of Rainbow Beach, was named after Patrick Seary, a timber getter. The creek was an outlet for logs from the 1860's onwards. Relics can still be found around the area if you take the time to look.
These days Seary's Creek is a popular swimming hole for locals and visitors. The cool sparkling water a summer reprieve in the shade of the heath & low woodland trees. At times, small rapids provide fun for those wishing to float the length of the creek.
Wheelchair accessible along the timber boardwalk.
